TIMS and igus® Hold the Results presentation of Robotic Arm Predictive Maintenance Solutions

2021.06.07

In response to the increase in the average density of robots in the global manufacturing industry, Professor Zhang Yuanren from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Feng Chia University has applied fault prediction and health management (PHM) technology to machinery sponsored by igus Taiwan Company Ltd. from 2020. The excellent results will be shown on June 10 by broadcasting live.

Feng Chia University and igus’ robotic arm results conference will be broadcast live on June 10th.

In order to meet the needs of enterprises, Zhang has used the expensive National Instruments software and hardware for signal acquisition from 2020, and simultaneously used the cheap Raspberry Pi IoT sensor for experiments. After long-term operation and analysis, comparison PHM analyzes the results and thoroughly compares the two signal acquisition methods, allowing companies to choose the import method according to their budget. Based on the model analyzed by NI software and hardware devices and the Raspberry Pi IoT sensor, the key features are almost the same as the declining trend. The key features can explain that the reason for the decline of the robotic arm is related to the wear of the deceleration mechanism, and then the performance of the robotic arm is caused by wear. Decay, which in turn affects the accuracy and stability of the robotic arm.

General Manager of Igus Taiwan, Lin Guangyao, also further cooperated with Professor Zhang to set up a special graduation course on "Business Model and Talent Cultivation of Smart Manufacturing under Sustainability".  The students will be introduced to learn business models and implement the students’ "early participation".
